Go Green for cerebral palsy

By Melanie Ransom

Our school is supporting people living with cerebral palsy by wearing green for a day!

We're excited as a school community to make a real difference to the lives of young people and adults living with cerebral palsy!

On 11 August many local schools are "Going Green for Cerebral Palsy"! Students are encouraged to wear green for a day in an exchange for a gold coin donation that will be donated to Cerebral Palsy Alliance.

Every 15 hours an Australian child is born with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a physical disability affecting a person’s ability to move. It is due to damage to the developing brain either during pregnancy or shortly after birth. Cerebral palsy affects people in different ways and can affect body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance.

"Going Green for Cerebral Palsy" was created by Melanie Ransom whose nephew was born with a form of cerebral palsy called spastic hemiplegia, which affects movement on one side of his body.

Every dollar you are able to donate will help Cerebral Palsy Alliance provide therapy, services and support to thousands of children, teenagers and adults in NSW and the ACT living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will receive a tax receipt via email.

Together we can make a very real difference!
