Some of you may not be aware that our 6 month old Flynn suffered a perinatal stroke which is a stroke whilst he was still in utero. When he was born he started having seizures and we were rushed to a hospital with a NICU and awaited an MRI which confirmed the doctor’s suspicions that Flynn had a stroke.
We are continuing to work with our team of specialists to ensure Flynn has the best chances however due to his stroke and the damage caused to his brain he has a 75% chance of developing cerebral palsy due to his age we are still uncertain but from observations and tests conducted by specialists we are pretty certain he has cerebral palsy however again the severity is undetermined.
This May we have decided to take on the challenge of walking 50km to raise money for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance to help kids, adults and families just like ours!
